Merchant Account

A merchant account is simply a vehicle that takes your orders online, via credit card or a payment by check and processes it to your business bank account automatically.

This is a very easy and comfortable way to do business. You can be away on a vacation and all the business you receive is being handled by the merchant account, no calls, no headaches, just check your bank account.

There are other means of doing this, such as Pay-Pal, a good company, I use them for ordering courses for my customers. But for every day transactions I prefer my merchant account, because it gives me accurate info on everything. I'm able to go back a year, punch in a certain month, and it gives me all sales, names and addresses, phone numbers and a email address. You'll find this to be a valuable asset, because when to talk to a previous customer you have their information at your fingertips.

The merchant account makes life on the internet a much easier place to be. I use a company called "Linkpoint", very professional, no up front costs( a key), no contract, plenty of phone numbers, ( all 800). Do not go with a company that has contracts, because if your internet business does not work, you will still be paying on that merchant account, a bad idea.
