Email scams are becoming more prolific across the internet as people are finding out with more online frauds.

A big factor in this is bulk emailing which claims to sell a list of email addresses in the millions, sending this in a one time bulk form. You also have others who provide software for automating sending of email addresses to thousands, if not millions. And most internet service providers frown upon this practice of bulk emailing.

Email scams come in many shapes and sizes such as business opportunities, low money down, high returns. Work at home schemes, health and diet schemes. Others use the offer of free goods, investment opportunities, guaranteed credit and loans, credit repair, and vacation prizes and promos.

These emails prey on the people and their hopes as people are giving up credit cards on the internet, personal information etc. Your just not using a secure website when you fall prey to these email predators. Their using the method if "phishing" which is simply online identity theft, using spoof emails in order to get your personal information.

To combat email scams make sure you have an updated antivirus software, antispy software, a firewall, antiphising toolbar, which I have with earthlink, my service provider. And just be cautious.
